Target/Biomarker information
geese infected with Goose Circovirus (GoCV) often shows non-specific clinical symptoms such as diarrhea and growth retardation. Feather disorders, similar to those observed in circovirus-infected parrots, have also been observed in geese infected with GoCV. Post-mortem examinations of infected birds frequently reveal both splenomegaly and enlargement of the thymus and liver while hemorrhages in the epi- and endocardium, the lungs, and the thymus have also been noted. The most common histopathological changes are depletion of T-lymphocytes in lymphoid organs including the thymus, the spleen, and the bursa of Fabricius.
