Higher CSF Aβ38 levels are associated with lower risk of AD-related changes in 2 independent clinical cohorts. Meta-analysis of 17 studies did not show a convincing difference between Alzheimer’s disease patients and controls: the effect size was quite small (0.921) and the p value was only marginally significant (0.03).
