Target/Biomarker information
Myoglobin(MB) is an oxygen storage protein in muscle, mainly in cardiac and skeletal muscle tissue, myoglobin oxygen saturation curve is hyperbolic. Myoglobin is composed of the main protein in skeletal muscle and cardiac muscle. When the muscle injury, muscle tissue can leak into the blood circulation, so that myoglobin concentration increases, the index is used to determine if there is muscle damage.
