LACTB: Target/Biomarker Introduction, products summarized (antibody/ADC/bispecific/antigen/ORF vector/VLP) and disease/indication/condition/MOA for drug discovery and IVD

It's the GeneMedi's summary page for Target/Biomarker Introduction of LACTB. The page also collects GeneMedi's different modalities and formats products for LACTB in therapeutics/drug discovery and IVD diagnostics, which is including antibody, ADC, bispecific, antigen, ORF vector, VLP, etc. With GeneMedi's target-insight database-GM ITD database, the LACTB target is also connected to human indications/diseases/conditions/MOA.

Target sublocation: Secreted Protein/Potential Cytokines.

This gene encodes a mitochondrially-localized protein that has sequence similarity to prokaryotic beta-lactamases. Many of the residues responsible for beta-lactamase activity are not conserved in this protein, suggesting it may have a different enzymatic function. Increased expression of the related mouse gene was found to be associated with obesity. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different protein isoforms.
