Definition of the disease: Feline panleukopenia is a highly contagious, often fatal, viral disease of cats that is seen worldwide. Kittens are affected most severely. The causative parvovirus is very resistant; it can persist for 1 year at room temperature in the environment if protected in organic material. Feline panleukopenia is now diagnosed infrequently by veterinarians in many countries, presumably as a consequence of widespread vaccine use. However, infection rates remain high in some unvaccinated cat populations, and the disease occasionally is seen in vaccinated, pedigreed kittens that have been exposed to a high virus challenge. Feline parvovirus (FPV; synonymous with feline panleukopenia virus) is closely related to mink enteritis virus and the type 2 canine parvoviruses (CPV) that cause canine parvoviral enteritis. All are now designated as members of the species Carnivore protoparvovirus 1. FPV can cause disease in all felids and in some members of related families (eg, raccoon, mink), but it does not harm canids. Conversely, some currently circulating CPV strains (CPV-2a, -2b, and -2c) have been shown to cause feline panleukopenia in domestic cats and larger felids. However, FPV dominates over CPV as the cause of feline panleukopenia worldwide. Vaccines that contain FPV protect cats against disease caused by CPV, although vaccines that contain FPV induce much lower antibody titers against CPV-2c than against FPV.
Genemedi produces core animal health diagnostic ingredients-validated antibodies pairs Mouse anti-Feline parvovirus monoclonal antibodies and Feline parvovirus antigens for rapid test kit of animal infectious disease with Feline parvovirus to evaluate the animal health of pet.
The paired antibodies are both monoclonal antibody(mab).
All the antibodies and antiges of animal disease test are suitable for in functional ELISA, and other immunoassays in dignostics. The antibody can act as a capture antibody and detection antibody. Antigens are validated as positive control materials.

Antigen description | Feline herpesvirus (FHV-1) is a viral infection that is unique to cats; it is not contagious to people or dogs. Herpes is a highly contagious virus; many kittens are infected by their mothers early in life. Symptomatic cats that are housed with other cats will infect each other easily, which is why it is very common in both shelter cats and cats obtained by a breeder. Infection is passed through direct contact with nasal and ocular secretions or from the virus on common surfaces such as bedding, bowls, and kennels. |
