    TrxR's story unfolds within the confines of feline cells, where it choreographs a complex dance of redox reactions. At its core, TrxR catalyzes the reduction of thioredoxin (Trx), a modest yet influential protein that stands as a guardian of cellular redox equilibrium. In its reduced form, Trx takes on the mantle of safeguarding cells against the malevolent influence of reactive oxygen species (ROS), diffusing their potential for oxidative harm to critical cellular components.
