Canopy homolog 2 (CNPY2) is an endoplasmic reticulum (ER) luminal protein and belongs to CNPY family. CNPY2  enhance proliferation, migration and tissue revascularization of human smooth muscle cells. CNPY2 inhibit tumor growth and angiogenesis and enhances cell apoptosis through activating p53. Canopy homolog 2 (CNPY2) is also reported to control the outgrowth of neurites, through positive regulation of their outgrowth in neuroblastoma and pheochromocytoma PC12 cells due to stabilizing the myosin regulatory light chain (MRLC), and has been suggested as a novel modulator of cell motility.
