IL-1Rrp2 is also known as IL-1R6. It is a transmembrane protein belonging to the IL-1 receptor family. It is a ligand binding subunit that associates with IL-1RAcP to form a functional receptor complex for IL-1F6, IL-1F8, and IL-1F9. It plays key roles in the activation and amplification of the immune response. Improper receptor signaling has been associated with chronic and acute inflammatory responses and diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, and lupus erythematosus.
