Target/Biomarker information

A new Group B arbovirus, for which the name Cowbone Ridge virus is proposed, was isolated from the blood and tissue pool of a cotton rat (Sigmodon hisjridus) collected in Hendry County in south Florida. Absence of antibody in animal species other than cotton rate and a cotton mouse (Peromyscus gossypinus) suggests that the virus primarily infect rodents.
