    Target/Biomarker information

Duck viral hepatitis (DVH) is an acute, highly contagious, viral disease typically affecting ducklings less than six weeks of age. DVH is characterized by a short incubation period, sudden onset, high mortality, and characteristic liver lesions. The viruses that cause DVH in ducklings is duck hepatitis virus, a hepadnavirus infection of older ducks. The most widespread, and virulent subtype of duck viral hepatitis is traditionally referred as DVH Type I and it has been renamed as duck hepatitis A virus type 1 (DHAV-1). It has been classified into the genus of Avihepatovirus and Picornaviridae family.
